Meet Ramiro Leal | CanvasRebel

We recently connected with Ramiro Leal and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Ramiro, thanks for joining us today. Can you open up about a risk you’ve taken – what it was like taking that risk, why you took the risk and how it turned out?

One of the biggest risks I’ve taken in my life was leaving everything I knew behind in Monterrey, Mexico, and moving to Los Angeles to pursue my goal of becoming an actor. At the time, it felt like a massive leap into the unknown—new city, new culture, and a fiercely competitive industry. It wasn’t just a career shift; it was a life-changing decision. The backstory is that acting and storytelling were always my passions, but the idea of making a living from it felt almost out of reach growing up.

The risk wasn’t just about the career; it was about betting on myself. I knew that the road would be tough, and full of uncertainty. But I was willing to face that. At first, there were challenges, like everyone experiences when they start something new. But slowly, as I immersed myself in the industry, built connections, and worked hard at honing my craft, things started to align.

Fast forward to today, I’ve had the privilege of working on incredible film projects, collaborating with amazing people, and building a career that allows me to do what I love every day. Taking that leap wasn’t easy, but it’s taught me that the biggest rewards come from the boldest risks. It’s the kind of journey that proves the power of believing in yourself, even when the outcome isn’t guaranteed.

Ramiro, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

Hey there! For those of you who don’t know me yet, I’m Ramiro Leal, an actor, fitness model, and producer originally from Monterrey, Mexico. I’ve spent the last few years in Los Angeles, fully immersing myself in the world of film and modeling. Acting has been my passion for as long as I can remember, but it wasn’t until I made the leap to LA that I began turning that passion into a full-fledged career. From starring in feature films that have gained international recognition to leading global advertising campaigns for brands like Red Robin, Clamato, and Experian, I’ve been fortunate enough to build a body of work that reflects my versatility and drive.

What sets me apart is my ability to connect with a wide range of audiences—whether it’s through the big screen or in a commercial, I focus on making sure that my work resonates deeply and authentically. My brand is all about storytelling with impact, whether I’m playing a leading role in a film or representing a brand in a commercial. I believe in bringing charisma, dedication, and a genuine love for what I do to every project, and I think that’s what draws people in.

I’m most proud of the journey itself. Every project I’ve worked on has taught me something new and allowed me to collaborate with some truly inspiring people. For me, it’s not just about the end result but also about the process and the connections made along the way.

If there’s one thing I want people to take away from my work, it’s that I’m here to inspire and entertain, whether you’re watching me in a film or seeing me on your screen in a commercial. I love what I do, and I strive to make that passion and energy shine through in everything I put out there. And trust me—there’s so much more to come.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?

For me, the most rewarding aspect of being an artist is the ability to connect with people on a deeper level. Whether it’s through a character I’m portraying in a film or the story being told in a commercial campaign, there’s something incredibly powerful about creating an emotional experience for an audience. There’s also a certain freedom that comes with being a creative. It’s this constant push to explore, grow, and challenge myself. No two projects are the same, and I love that I get to continuously evolve in my craft.

But beyond the personal growth, it’s the idea that I get to contribute to the larger conversation, whether it’s through a thought-provoking film or an impactful campaign. When someone reaches out to say my work resonated with them or inspired them, that’s the moment I realize how special this path really is. At the end of the day, it’s about using creativity to make a connection and leave a lasting impact—and that’s what makes being an artist so incredibly rewarding for me.

Are there any books, videos or other content that you feel have meaningfully impacted your thinking?

Absolutely! One book that has had a significant impact on how I approach both my craft and the business side of things is Mastery by George Leonard. This book was actually recommended to me by Brian Cutler, and it completely shifted my mindset about growth and success. Mastery explores the idea that true mastery—whether in a skill, career, or personal development—doesn’t come from quick wins, but from committing to the process, embracing the plateaus, and staying dedicated even when progress feels slow.

In an industry where there’s constant pressure to reach the next milestone, this book has helped me stay grounded. It’s a reminder that the real growth comes from showing up, staying consistent, and improving a little every day. Mastery also emphasizes the importance of discipline, which I apply in my acting career and my fitness modeling. The idea that small, intentional actions, when practiced consistently, lead to lasting change is something I carry with me in everything I do.
